Björk Gudmundsdottir родилась 21 ноября 1965 года в Рейкьявике. Она была настоящим "ребенком цветов" - отчим будущей певицы был хиппи (родители Бьорк развелись, когда ей было 3 года отроду).

Ребенком она изучала флейту, фортепьяно и вокал, и в 1977 году в Исландии, когда девочка еще училась в начальной школе, вышел ее настоящий дебютный альбом с незатейливым названием "Björk". Она записала его в возрасте 11 лет и уже тогда показала свой незаурядный талант не только вокалистки, но и музыканта, исполнив в нескольких песнях партии на флейте и клавишных. До начала сольной карьеры в 1995 году Бьорк уже успела проявить себя в трех группах. Ее творчество затрагивало самые разные стили - от постпанка до бибопа и джаза. В 1993 году она с семилетним сыном Синдри переехала в Лондон и начала сольную карьеру. Однако, оставив позади эксперименты с изощренным гитарным звуком, Бьорк решила попробовать себя в танцевальной и клубной музыке, сотрудничая с такими Именами на электронной сцене, как Нелли Хупер, Underworld и Трики. Первым результатом совместной работы Бьорк и Хупера стал сингл "Human Behaviour", изданный в июне 1993 г

Заглавная песня вошла в британский Top 40 и прочно закрепилась в нем, подготовив 3(!) место альбому "Debut".

Лирика, как и во всех других песнях, поражает воображение живостью, нетривиальным подходом и идеально соответствует гротескным образам видеоряда, создатель которых, в числе прочего, несомненно, вдохновлялся ежиком из русских туманов......
